If you already own a belt, we recommend measuring your current belt on the tightest setting you use to give you the circumference of the belt at the setting you usually use.
If you do not have a belt then please measure your waist where the belt will sit (which is normally just above the navel), with your abdominal muscles braced. Please do not use your pant waist measurement as this will not be accurate for the belt measurement.
We typically recommend a belt where you fall in the middle of the sizing guide, as this will allow you to adjust the belt in either direction depending on your preference of fit, what exercise you are using the belt for, should your bodyweight change, or if you wear the belt over layers of clothes or a neoprene belt.
To ensure the outer face of the leather and the stitching retain their original appearance, we would recommend using a regular black shoe polish once every 1-3 months. Polish directly onto the leather and then buff to a shiny finish.
Avoid dropping or throwing the belt, as this can cause damage to the belt buckle.
This belt is worth every penny. I came from owning two pioneer belts (10 & 13MM) for a few years because I was afraid of the SBD price. No regrets coming from other belts other than I wish I bought the SBD belt from the beginning. The comfort, stability & fit couldn’t be more perfect & so noticeable in my lifts. I’ve trained my core so I only use a belt at my heaviest sets/PRs and within the first weeks my PRs became a regular set for reps. And if you’re about style, the amount of compliments you get is insane haha. I body build not power lift but I work for progressive overload so the belt helps a lot at the heavy sets.
Size chart is off but give good brace
Excellent quality.
The price may seem high, but it is very worthwhile, stop spending on junk things and invest in quality like SBD.
When I first started powerlifting, I mistakenly bought a regular 13mm lever belt. Not only was 13mm way too rigid for deadlifts, but my squat setting is a also notch too tight for deadlifts and it was a pain having to pack a screwdriver in my gym bag just to adjust my belt between lifts. This 10mm SBD belt is PERFECT cause it's:
1) adjustable
2) thick enough for heavy squat support, but not so thick you can't deadlift in it.
Buy nice or buy twice!
